CM Bitter on Question 1

CM Bitter is doing a series this week on their November ballot question picks.  Yesterday they began with Question 1.  Question 1 reads “Do you want to reject the new law that lets same-sex couples marry and allows individuals and religious groups to refuse to perform these marriages?”  CM Bitter’s opinion follows.

I have to vote no here. I mean, let’s face it, traditional marriage is beyond screwed up as it stands now, so what in the blue hell does it matter if Joe wants to marry or John or Jenny wants to marry Sally? The amount of money raised by the people on the Vote Yes side is just astounding, especially in an economic climate where many people are struggling to feed their families. They all come off as simple, close-minded people who would love to have TV back in black and white and still fear a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. Get over it. Move on. Leave the bible out of my politics (by the way Catholics, in a religion that seems to be known more for priests and their sexual dalliances with altar boys than anything else nowadays, you don’t have a leg to stand on in this.)

My Pick here-Vote No on Question 1
