Telephone Press Conference Tomorrow With Educators On Question 1

Educators and Legislatures will gather tomorrow to speak on same-sex marriage in Maine.  They will be available for a phone conference beginning at 4pm.  The purpose of the conference is to address myths and falsehoods surrounding same-sex marriage in Maine and our schools.  No On 1/Protect Maine Equality is hosting the event.  More information after the cut.

NO on 1/Protect Maine Equality will host a telephone press conference TOMORROW (Tuesday, September 29) beginning at 4:00 p.m. Participants on the call will include:

—  State Senator Justin Alfond, Chairman of the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs
—  Oak Hill High School (School Union #44, Litchfield, Sabattus and Wales) Principal Pat Doyle
—  2005 Maine Teacher of the Year Sherri Gould of Corinna
—  Georgetown School Committee Member, Nina Roth-Wells
The press conference will both address why marriage equality provides important rights and protections to all Maine children, but will also address Question 1’s ad campaign which distorts its impact on Maine schools.
To participate in the telephone press conference, please e-mail by 2 PM on Tuesday, Sept. 29th.
